Procedure to apply for a visa

After your appointment you will receive an e-mail within 10 to 15 working days informing you whether:

• your visa application has been approved. In this case, we will give you an appointment to retrieve your visa.
   
• your visa application had to be send to immigration office for decision. This can take several months, depending on the type of visa. From that moment on  the Belgian Embassy has no influence on the time of processing, neither on the decision.
  In case of a positive outcome, you will be informed by email and we will give you an appointment to retrieve your visa.
  In case of a negative outcome, you will receive an email with a 'deed of notification' informing you of the reason for refusal of the visa. 
   
• your visa application is incomplete or extra documents are required. You will be notified by email and you will get a 30-day period to complete your visa application or provide the extra documents.
