COVID-19 update : Re-opening of the visa section

From June, 15th Belgium will open its borders for travel to and from the European Union, including the United Kingdom and the four other Schengen countries (Switzerland, Liechtenstein, Iceland and Norway), provided  the epidemiologic situation in Belgium and in the country in question keeps developing  positively.

As a consequence, the visa section of the Belgian Embassy in Berlin will re-open.
From 16.06.2020 onwards, new applications can be submitted and we will be able to issue visa again.

For visa applications  which were already sent and were on hold due to COVID-19:  all applicants will receive a personalized e-mail in which they will be asked whether they still want to go ahead with the application. In case of positive reply, the visa will be processed asap, in chronological order.  We kindly ask you to refrain from calling/sending e-mails in the meantime, as this will inevitably cause longer delays for all applications.

If you require a visa to go to Belgium, you will find information on this page.
Visa applications are only handled by the Belgian Embassy in Berlin for non-EU citizens who hold legal residence in Germany.
You are invited to send your application per registered post to the following address:

Belgian Embassy in Berlin
Visa section
Jägerstraße 52-53
10117 Berlin

If you cannot find the information on our website, you can contact the visa section via e-mail: berlin@diplobel.fed.be.

Important: please be advised that the attachment size is limited. You can only send up to 5MB in attachments (if you have more than one attachment, they can't add up to be more than 5MB). E-mails with an attachment size larger than 5MB will not arrive and you will not recieve a message informing you that the e-mail did not arrive.
